John Macom Thomé

Obituary: MNRAS 69, 255 (1909); VJS 44, 92 (1909)

Thomé found 7 IC objects during his work for the Cordoba Durchmusterung (CD), started in September 1885 at Cordoba Observatory, Argentina; 5 were new. He used a 4.9" (f/13) Clark refractor and was assisted by his wife Francis A. W. Thomé. All objects are contained in the first two CD-volumes (1892, 1894). Their discovery dates are not known. IC 1459 and IC 5267 were discovered by Barnard and Finlay, respectively.
